The London swim school
that grows with you,
from first splash to first paycheque.
Swimming lessons London the way they should be taught. Private pool, expert instructors, structured progression for ages 4 to adult. And when your child is ready, the same academy that taught them to swim trains them to lifeguard, teach, and earn. One school, the entire journey.
Two doors, one academy.
Most swim schools serve one audience. Swimcore Academy is built for two, the family teaching their child to swim, and the teenager or adult building a career in aquatics. Pick your path below.

Calm, playful sessions designed to build trust with water. We meet your child where they are, hesitant, excited, terrified, or fearless, and turn the pool into the place they look forward to all week.

Most London swim schools spread themselves thin across rented public pools. We don't. Swimcore Academy teaches at one venue, the private pool inside Mill Hill School, on Friday and Sunday evenings and half-term weeks only.
That focus is the point. Smaller schedule, smaller class sizes, every instructor knows every swimmer, no shouting over public-leisure noise, no chasing five locations across North London. If you want a swim school that works around your Tuesday-night football, we are not it. If you want the weekly slot your child looks forward to, we are.
Weekly schedule
Six reasons Swimcore Academy works.
Not slogans. The six things that genuinely make a London swim school different, and that we hold ourselves to every Friday and Sunday evening and every half-term week.
Patient, never rushed
Technique can be taught. Confidence has to be built. Every Swimcore lesson begins by making the swimmer feel safe, calm, and never under pressure. Once a child trusts the water, everything else follows.
Mill Hill School, no public lanes
We teach exclusively at the private heated pool inside Mill Hill School. No public swimmers, no shouting echoes, no fighting for lane space. The water is calm because the venue is closed to everyone but us.
Lessons to lifeguard, no switching
The same school that teaches your four-year-old to float can train your sixteen-year-old as a lifeguard. No restarting somewhere new at every life stage, the relationship continues.
RLSS, STA, CIMSPA, Swim England
The four credentials that genuinely matter in UK aquatics, all of them, not just one or two for marketing. We get audited, we keep them current, and we expect the same of every instructor we hire.
See what to fix
From age 8 upward, swimmers get full video review of their stroke. The kind of feedback you would expect at a high-performance swim school, except we use it from year 3, not year 13.
Qualified, DBS-checked, chosen for patience
Every instructor is fully certified and DBS-checked, but we hire on patience as much as paperwork. You can have all the certificates in the world, they do not matter if a child does not trust you.

I just did lifeguard course...my teacher was Maria she is very kind and Professional Maria the Best:)
Thank you
A huge thank you to the trainers for all their help and encouragement. I passed my NPLQ and genuinely feel well prepared to work as a lifeguard. I would definitely recommend Swimcore Academy to anyone looking to complete their lifeguard qualification! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have taught swimmers from age four to seventy-four. Different goals, different fears, different bodies. But every single one needed the same two things first, patience, and someone who genuinely believed they could do it. That is still how we teach at Swimcore.
Before you book.
We teach swimmers from age 4 through adult. Children's lessons begin at our First Splash level, progress through structured Swim England aligned learn-to-swim stages, then a Pre-Lifeguard pathway from age 11. Adult lessons cover everything from total beginners to advanced stroke technique, whether the goal is fitness, weight loss, or rebuilding confidence in the water.
We teach on Friday evenings between 5:30pm and 9:30pm and Sunday evenings between 5pm and 8pm during term-time, plus 5-day intensive crash courses during half-term breaks. Half-term weeks also host our NPLQ lifeguard courses. We are not a year-round daily venue, our schedule is intentionally focused so each swimmer gets a private pool experience.
Swimcore Academy is based at the private pool inside Mill Hill School in North London (NW7 1QS). It's easily reachable from Mill Hill, Hendon, Edgware, Finchley, Barnet, and Golders Green, with free private parking on site.
Yes. Alongside private and small-group lessons for ages 4+, Swimcore Academy runs RLSS-approved NPLQ lifeguard training, STA swim teacher courses, first aid qualifications, and ongoing CPD for aquatic professionals. The full course list lives on our Aquatic Training hub.
Five consecutive days of swimming lessons during half-term week, typically one focused session per day. Crash courses are ideal for accelerated progression, helping nervous beginners get comfortable in the water or pushing intermediate swimmers to the next level much faster than weekly lessons allow.
Every Swimcore instructor is fully certified, DBS-checked, and personally selected. Our qualifications include Swim England, STA, RLSS UK, and CIMSPA accreditations. The founder is a qualified Trainer Assessor, which is the highest level of swim teaching credential in the UK.
Pricing varies by lesson type (1-to-1 versus small group), age, and whether you book a single session or a multi-lesson bundle. Contact us for current rates and to discuss what works for your goals and schedule.
Yes, this is what makes Swimcore different. Many of the teenagers we now train as lifeguards started lessons with us at age 8. The journey runs from First Splash at age 4, through structured stages, into a Pre-Lifeguard pathway from age 11, and then into NPLQ lifeguard qualification at 16, when they can earn real wages and UCAS points.
Yes. The Mill Hill School pool is heated, calm, and private, no public swimmers, no echoing leisure-centre noise. Many of our most rewarding stories start with adults who could not swim a single length and children who were terrified to put their face in the water.
The fastest way is WhatsApp on +44 7740 081 287, or message us through the contact page. We reply within 24 hours, usually much faster. We will ask a few questions about your goals, availability, and any previous swimming experience before suggesting the right starting point.
